Matte flakie skittle over black for McPolish

So Amy of McPolish aka Polish Etc. recently reached 10k followers on Instagram. As someone who I followed since I started my own nail art/Instagram journey about five months ago, I wanted to congratulate her not just through reposting her giveaway photo, but by re-creating one of my fav manis of hers. Mattifying flakies is also one of her favourite things to do in her spare time, actually I'm pretty sure she mattifies almost every mani with flakies. All hail to McPolish, queen of #matteall alltheflakies.

Let me explain myself briefly: I realize that my flakie colours do not match Amy's... I'm not blind okay. I only own five flakie toppers and I used them all, two of which look almost exactly the same in colour on the nail, but different in the bottle. I got punked by L'Oreal.

See, I'm not lying. L'Oreal = greenish-blue flakies in bottle, wtf???

Macro of Essie 'Shine of the times' because it will go down in history as the best one-coater flakies ever that people continue to hunt down since its extinction.

L'Oreal 'Magic coat the holographic' why are you so misleading?? And so shitty? Like really, shards of glass-like flakies that poke out? No.

Do you know how hard it is to hold five bottles of nail polish in one hand? 

The bright side of this post is that it turned into an opportunity to test and rank all my flakies.

- Nails Inc. 'The old vic' (blue flakie... like actually blue though)
- L'Oreal 'The holographic' (Supposedly green to blue shifting flakie... but no. Nice try L'Oreal)
- Nails Inc. 'The wyndham' (green flakie)
