Inspired by a Coach scarf

I know what you're thinking: It's basically May and I'm getting inspired by a (cashmere) scarf?! For what good reason would I have to wear such winter attire during the spring?! Well, if you haven't heard yet, I live in the North Pole (a.k.a. Canada), and I was actually wearing this scarf today. So sad.

My boyfriend got this scarf for me for my birthday last fall and I just love the purple-tinged-dirty-white base colour with the pops of colour. So obviously I had to do my nails to match! I actually did these nails last month, but I'm not lying about the still-wearing-this-scarf-today comment.

To execute this mani I used striping tape as a guide hence the plaid lines being super straight. This required a lot of drying time in between stripe layers so as to not rip off the first layer of stripes. I generally don't use fast-drying topcoat in between layers to speed up the process because I find doing that just adds to the overall thickness of the mani, can cause uneveness, and increase risk of chippage. So I space it out and do it the long away. There's a total of 6 different colours applied here sourced from 8 different nail polishes, although it's a bit tough to detect in the photos because two pairs of colours are very close (the coral-pink and the peach; the navy blue and the indigo). You can see the subtle differences in the scarf, which I did my best to match to polishes or a mixture of polishes (I was pretty spot on).

I can't find this scarf on the Coach website anymore because it's last fall's model... I'm so out of touch with fashion, clearly.

I even did both hands cause I love you guys so much:

Polishes used:
- Essie 'Chinchilly' + Quo by Orly 'White' = my magical purple-tinged off-white (see yesterday's post)
- Nails Inc. 'Oxford street' + Maybelline Colour Show 'Fierce n' tangy' = mustard yellow
- Revlon 'Urban' (indigo)
- Maybelline Colour Show 'Midnight swim' (navy blue)
- Sally Hansen 'Mango loco' (coral pink)
- Essie 'Tart deco' (rich peach)
