Best drug store black nail polish

What's the best black polish?

Some may tell you some obscure indie brand, but that's always so hard to find (and I would otherwise tell you the same - Cult Nails 'Nevermore' has always been my fav black polish but they went out of business, so, boo). Therefore I did a hunt for the best black polish that is actually readily available at drug or beauty stores in most countries!

Watch the video embedded below in this post to find out ;)

VIDEO TUTORIAL RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW !

10MIN VIDEO REVIEW:

Anddddd the winner was China Glaze's 'Liquid Leather'! You'll find a list of all the other black polishes I used/featured in the video description box on my YouTube video page.

And of course what's the point of putting on black polish if you're not going to apply a holo top coat on top...

I used Starrily's 'Eclipse' for this linear holographic rainbow effect AHHHHHHH RAINBOWZZZ

And that's all for today!

  1. Thank you for doing such a great swatch review. Black polishes ought to be one-coaters, I totally agree!

  3. I usually use Essie's licorice because I like the thin but pigmented formula, but it does take two coats. For the best OTC one coater black polish the best I've tried is sally Hansen's black o from their miracle gel line. The only down side is that you must use the tc to go with it or it will wrinkle on your as*

  4. I loved Cult Nails Nevermore. Applied like butter (not to be confused with Butter London polishes that ironically do not apply like butter).

But life must go on. My new go-to black undies is Wet 'n Wild Black Creme (text box is not allowing me to put the accent on 'creme'... grrrr!). It's not Nevermore, but it's cheap and cheerful, I got a three pack on Amazon.ca, but that's not currently available from them at a reasonable price (ever notice how some things just get ridiculous prices on Amazon.ca--seriously, who the hell is going to pay $69.61 for a three-pack of WnW polish?). A pack of two on Amazon.ca is $7.09 and a single is $5.39. In the Land of the Free, it's $4.99 USD on Amazon.com.

  5. Well done! Finger Paints Black Expressionism has been my go to one coat black undies for years. Their Paper Mache white is pretty good, but sometimes does need a 2nd coat. Both are available at Sally's BS. :)
