Copper tweed nails with black chevron accents

'Cause why not! Actually because Nail It! magazine put out a call for tweed nail art recently, so I gave it a go and was inspired by Karen of @sharingvu on Instagram's take on it with random black accents over the tweed. Here goes!

I used my Chinese sumi brushes from @sharingvu and acrylic paint to create most of the tweed design, along with a skinny striper brush from Born Pretty Store to do the copper pieces of 'tweed' woven in the pattern. The reason why I used a regular nail art brush for the copper is because the copper is actually a nail polish, and you shouldn't use nail polish with sumi brushes because they are made of delicate bristles. Essie's 'Penny Talk'

Look, both hands! I wore this look to the office for a week and everyone loved it. Who am I kidding, no one commented, cause no one cares about my nails, but I loved it, so, yeah.

Check it out, my nails and my thesis! I was inspired by the lovely Cristina aka @crisalvarado17 to snap a pic of my #nailsandmythesis, a trending hashtag on Instagram, except that my thesis is not nearly as interesting as a peetree dish experiment... it's essentially just a 286 page book. B-O-R-I-N-G.

- Skinny striper nail art brush from Born Pretty Store for use with copper nail polish
