This week's weekly nail art challenge (co-hosted by Kristin of Lacquerstyle and Tracey of @missbellatracey on Instagram) is matte black and white - and I went simple for once! I was inspired by Amy Tran's square purple and gold opposite-interlocking design, and then as it turns out a couple days later she published a now very similar one to mine which I just realized now lol, except she used full swirls instead of mini swirls. I guess this is what happens when you opt for a simple design, there's really nothing proprietary about it since someone is bound to think up the same thing!
VIDEO TUTORIAL AT THE END OF THE POST!
I used 2 swirl nail vinyls from Twinkled T on each nail to create this simple B&W mod look. These pics are the glossy version:
And here's the matte version, mattified with Essie's 'Matte about you' (not really much difference eh):
I used Cult Nails 'Nevermore' (black) and 'Tempest' (white) in this mani. Both are my go-to B&W polishes as they are very opaque and the white is even a one-coater if you put it on just right. So right and so creamy! Sadly, however, I have learned that Cult Nails is going out of business, and so I am on the hunt for a new favourite black and white polish that can satisfy my basic nail art needs. Everyone needs a great B&W!! If you have any favs you swear by, lemme know in the comments below!

Great idea, love it! Matte version is even better.
ReplyDeleteHi Cristine, this is two mani's in a row of yours that have made me kind of dizzy with all the swirls! Whew! These look just great.
