FUN Lacquer 2015 New Years Collection |
So apparently 2015 is full of rich sassy dark hues that shift like some crazy two-faced bitch. GET ON MY NAILS NOW. I mean, look at those bottles?? That's the same polish in each bottle?? HUH
And then there's the holo twin to each multi-chrome of course, with scattered gold holo micro glitters!
This particular pic took me forever to edit.... and it still ain't perfect but pffft those sparkly multi-chromes make up for it.
Freaking dance party right here!!
Gahhhhhh so much shifty!!!
Oh hey you sexy teal-purple woman
I think my macro shots show the shift of these beauties the best!! Honestly it was all luck. Capturing these multi-chromes in their full extent of rainbow glory in one photo is hard man!
Magical shifty awesomeness of FUN Lacquer 2015 New Years Collection |
Okay, colour round-up time!
Swatch conditions:
- All shots were photographed indoors under 2x 5200k compact fluorescent bulbs, never with camera flash.
- I used UNT's new peel off base coat for easy removal after each swatch, and kept my cuticles nice and supple with my favourite cuticle and nail oil.
- I applied three thin coats of polish for each swatch nail, no coloured base.
- I used mini heartbeat vinyls from Twinkled T for the accent nails.
- One coat of HK Girl glossy top coat by Glisten & Glow on all nails.
First up, FUN Lacquer Reunion! A gorgeous purple multi-chrome with an indigo-blue flash that shifts to warm purple all the way to pink and red and even yellow-green at some angles! I'd say its primary colour would be a blurple. For all the swatches here including this one, it took 2 to achieve opacity but I applied a third to even out my brush strokes. On my accent nail I've paired it with Burnin' Up. If all my highschool reunions were this interesting and awesome then I might actually attend.

Can you feel the heat? This is FUN Lacquer Burnin' Up, a gorgeous vibrant crimson red multi-chrome that shifts to a burnt orange, gold, to olive! This one would be great for all the heart-breakers out there this Valentine's day. Ye girl, you know who I'm talkin' about! Fack the boys, stay in this Valentine's day and paint yo nails!!
Mmmmmm so delicious like toasty cinnamon buns I wanna eat it - FUN Lacquer Burnin' Up (H) is so appropriately doused in gold holo micro-glitters. This polish screams I'M A GODDESS BOW DOWN TO ME. Just saying.
Ermagerddddd - FUN Lacquer Blessing is TEAL AND PURPLE. My two fav colours ever. I haven't seen multi-chromes with this particular colour shift spectrum, it's truly fabulously unique!! (Get it? F.U.N. stands for fabulously unique lacquer?? Okay never mind.) I freaking LOVE THIS POLISH YOU HAVE TO BUY THIS ONE IF YOU BUY ANY OF THEM. If my swatches don't result in the raiding of your bank account, then I don't know what does.
So if you get Blessing, then you basically have to get FUN Lacquer Blessing (H) too. If you don't, that's basically like the same thing as adopting just one of the two kittens in the litter and LEAVING THE OTHER ONE BEHIND. So cruel. Don't be cruel - adopt both the purebred multi-chrome and its evil holo twin.
And finally, the last pair of sexy-as-fack-multi-chromes, FUN Lacquer Celebrate! I had a hard time picking a fav - I would usually jump right on anything teal, but this magenta - not pink, it's magENTA - is so facking sexy and vivid I SALIVATE LOOKING AT IT. Like not even on my nails yet, just in the bottle. It shifts from a warm purple berry hue to a vivid magenta to orange to olive and UGH IT'S SO PERFECT I'M DEAD.
And last but definitely not least (in fact it's the first FUN Lacquer you should putting in your cart), say HAAAY to Celebrate (H)! Too many good things here I almost want to say LOOK AWAY THIS SHIT IS TOO GOOD.
Just for curiosity's sake here's some bottle comparisons of the FUN Lacquer multi-chromes I have that are closest in hue. The middle two (Poinsettia/H and C'est Noël/H) are from the 2014 Christmas collection. Evidently C'est Noël and Blessing are VERY different. Burnin' Up and Poinsettia are closer, though they are both red-ish on the one end of the shift spectrum, they shift to two very different colours (orange vs. green, see second pic). Personally I prefer Burnin' Up because the red is much more saturated and intense!
Overall the multi-chromes in this collection are BY FAR the best ones put out by FUN Lacquer. I am a sucker for vivid highly-pigmented blurples, turquoises and magentas and mmmmm this collection is just oozing in them. Buy all the multi-chromes! And all their holo twins!!!
Bad shot of Reunion (H), but here's the mini heartbeat vinyls from Twinkled T |
Mmmmm macro colour-shiftynessssss |
P.S. These are all currently available from Live Love Polish!
Live Love Polish is a great go-to polish distributor ideal for American and Canadian shoppers who fear expensive shipping costs (they do ship internationally too) and who like to buy multiple brands in one place (they also carry Models Own, NCLA, LVX, Floss Gloss and Color Club!). You can also pick up this collection directly from FUN Lacquer (based in Singapore), though I think they are planning a re-stock soon.
