Star Wars nails uh oh I've joined the dark side

THE NAIL FORCE AWAKENS cause I had to try and pay attention to all the Star Wars marketing going on around me so I could actually be informed and paint my nails accordingly. Yes, I admit, I've never seen a Star Wars movie... ever. Idk why, blame my parents, I was young!!

In any case, for this week's edition of the weekly nail art challenge (WNAC) I co-host on Instagram along with Kristin of Lacquerstyle and Tracey of MissBellaTracey, the theme is Festive and the prompt is Stars so clearly I interpreted this differently and used it as an excuse to do Star Wars nails for you good people of the Internetverse.

Abstract one-stroke nails with loose glitters

~Le français suit~

I'll admit I have no idea what I was trying to achieve with this one. I can't paint a flower to save my life, and so this 'one-stroke' mani is anything but the traditional one-stroke floral beauties you see on nail accounts like Tartofraises or Lucy's Stash. In any case, I was trying out a couple of new brushes I got from Winstonia store, the 'something blue' 15 piece nail art brush kit. A couple of the brushes are flat and therefore suited for one-stroke, so let's just call this a very beginner's take on what you can do with these brushes when it comes to one-stroke :)

Black holo up in smoke

Back in May I received my first Colors by Llarowe polish and I was oh so excited because I've never owned a holo polish that strong. I also decided I wanted to try out the 'one stroke' brush technique, popularized by nail artists such as Tartofraises and Lucy's Stash. These ladies do some crazy amazing floral designs with one-stroke, but since I had no idea what I was doing I went for a random mess that ended up looking like swirly smoke. Chalkboard Nails did some smoke nails last year, but using a watercolour technique.

This random smoke look was actually done two months ago back in May... sometimes folders just get left unpublished after a while and I forget all about them. Nail blogger problems. No video tutorial as such, but do check out the ladies mentioned above for some tips on the one-stroke technique.
