Work appropriate mani Monday: Nude & blue chevrons

Here's a simple but striking look that I'm going to argue is work appropriate no matter where you work. Bland beige nails is so 2002. Today you can pull off nude nails with a twist at the office and still be taken seriously (I would say this about any nail polish though... so maybe don't listen to me).

I used four Essie polishes (including 2 specialty ones from the Encrusted Treasures collection - see swatches and a review of this collection by Polish Aholic) to create this look. Nail vinyls in the shape of single chevrons were used to guide the application of the three mid-nail arrow-looking shapes.

How I executed this mani:
1. Paint nude base, let dry.
2. Apply two chevron nail vinyls and leave a gap equal to one nail vinyl in the middle of the nail(this will be your non-textured blue chevron). Paint blue, remove vinyls, let dry.
3. Apply two chevron nail vinyls 1 slot above the blue chevron and leave a gap equal to one nail vinyl (this will be your textured blue chevron). You end up placing one chevron adjacent to the existing painted blue chevron, but you don't actually cover it. Paint in texted blue, remove vinyls, let dry.
4. Now you have the option of a) filling in the multi-glitter polish between the two blue chevrons free-hand style, or b) waiting a LONG TIME for the two blue chevrons to dry (the textured one in particular), then playing two nail vinyls over the blue chevrons, then painting the middle chevron in the multi-glitter polish. Up to you. I freehanded it.
5. Remove all tape (if applicable), top coat, you're done!

Polishes used:
- Essie 'On a silver platter' (blue and silver glitter in shimmery gold base)
- Essie 'Lots of lux' (textured royal blue shimmer)
- Essie 'Mesmerized' (medium blue creme)
- Essie 'Sand tropez' (light beige creme)
