Unicorn window to your soul

What happens when you put unicorn skin over holo? MAGIC THAT'S WHAT.

I peeled off Charlie the Unicorn's skin (100% ethically and cruelty free harvested of course) and put it over holo and under a pastel gradient with extra unicorn dandruff on top. Yes, I know these don't fit that nicely over my nail, if you watch the video you'll see the struggle!

DIY fancy quilted nails

Finally new nail art for 2016! How's about some quilted nails cause I'm so fancy and all.

For this week's edition of the weekly nail art challenge (WNAC) I co-host on Instagram along with Kristin of Lacquerstyle and Tracey of MissBellaTracey, the theme is Glitz n Glam and the prompt is Quilted! Somewhat of a departure from my usual order of things (wtf is quilting anyways), but in the end a gradient worked itself into the mani somehow, as with some shimmer and holo glitter soooooo... that's the Glitz part?

I watched Tartofraises' amazing French witchcraft magic 3D quilted nails video for immediate inspiration and pretty much just drooled and then cried cause I had no idea what was happening even though I speak French. I looked for North American ways of achieving this look and the next best thing was found in a video by Kelli Marissa - dental floss, who knew those actually had a use!

Candy Cane Ice Queen nails

I AM A CANDY CANE ICE QUEEN. And my nails and sleighin' tonight.

This full-finger look was inspired by Glam and Gore's recent new look, I just had to put her face on my nails (and fingers)!

I used simply peel first to protect my skin from all the really uniformed stuff I then proceeded to do on my skin... this is why I'm not a makeup artist.

Ugly Christmas sweater nails

Hurray, finally Christmas nails! I mean *Cristmas* nails. Yeah, you'll have to watch my YouTube video for my logic and rationale on that one!

Snow on my nails because winter in Ottawa, Canada is coming and I must brace myself! Also this snow appears to have dog pee as a result of the pink-to-yellow colour shifting properties of the unicorn skins glitters.

White shattered glass nails with multi-chrome shifts

White unicorn skins have landed! After doing some black and holographic shattered glass nails, I felt like trying out a more "angelic" look over white! But obviously, because I can never keep anything simple, I added a twist of multi-chrome! FUN Lacquer's Blessing is one of the most powerful colour-shifting multi-chromes out there, going from a beautiful green to teal to blue to purple BAM I LOVE IT!! Almost as much as holo... not quite... but almost.

Dragon scales - triple scaled gradient nails

Back to simply nailogical basics!!! I've been trying out all sorts of different (or new to me) nail arts recently and I randomly had an urge to go back to my ways of gradienting all the nails. Since my nails are long af right now, it was the perfect time to do some triple scaled gradient action nails, that pretty much look like red dragon scales!

Lol no, that's stupid. But I did use Sharpie permanent markers to create this look. Therefore I had to put plaid on my nails. Good story, Cristine.

After I was finished I was not really feeling the design and I was all like "well why am not feeling this design tho"... and so I went back in my old plaid nail art archives and things made sense. I was so much better at doing plaid designs years ago, what happened?!?! Guess that's what you get when you commit to the vinyl, gradient and holosexual lifestyle.

Five hours and a lot of snapple crack later... came these nails. These took the longest to do of any glitter placement I've done (not that I've done that many), but in any case, DON'T THEY LOOK SWEET?! Two-toned scaled gradient waves

Back in the gradient biz woop woop! Finally feels like home. For this week's edition of the weekly nail art challenge (WNAC) I co-host on Instagram along with Kristin of Lacquerstyle and Tracey of MissBellaTracey, the theme is summer and the prompt is cobalt and and peach! I actually listened this time and did exactly that.

This two-toned scaled gradient is super trippy but easier than it looks! You do need nicely opaque creme polishes though for this to work, which I found!! These two Floss Gloss orange creme are sooooo opaque they actually make me consider liking creme polishes almost as much as holo (but still no).

Soccer ball holo glitter placement

HOLLLLOOOOOO GLITTTAHHHH cause what else. For this week's edition of the weekly nail art challenge (WNAC) I co-host on Instagram along with Kristin of Lacquerstyle and Tracey of MissBellaTracey, the theme is summer and the prompt is magenta and navy! Naturally I did nothing that made sense with this prompt!

Here's an in-your-face glitter placement using large maxi-sized holographic loose glitters from my fav nail supply store, Twinkled T! This is my second time doing a full-nail glitter placement mani (here's my first, with smaller glitters), and I placed the large hex's in a soccer ball pattern. Cause summer = soccer? Idk. The holo blinds you anyways so you can't see the soccer effect at all, whatever, sports, boring, not holo.
