The glitteriest holo nail art in all the land

Recently I posted four delicious swatches of Painted Polish by Lexi's holo glitter intoxicator line. The crowd went wild, kittens started meowing at record high pitches, and people died. Well, maybe only if a car came in 'drunk on holo' paint, then someone might die because of the reflective and sparkly properties which would in turn blind drivers in oncoming traffic causing a crash. That's why mirror chrome cars were banned from the roads, but whatever. Driving while drunk on holo? Amazing.

The Painted Polish shop is now open for pre-orders on all these holo glitter polishes and some new ones too as I post this. Shop now or you might miss out and you will basically regret it for the rest of your boring dull life.

Here's some nail art I made with these four babies. Now THIS is a real glitter gradient.

Can I just complain about what a drag it is for me to take pics in direct sunlight? I'll have you know that in order to photograph all four swatches and this skittle glitter mani I had to get up at 6:30am, hope to god it was a sunny day with no clouds, and had a one to one-and-a-half hour window to get all the photos done before the sun peaces out behind my building by 8:00am. Yep, there's only direct sun in my window bright and early in the morning. Evidently this took me five seperate days (one for each mani), spread out over a couple of weeks because I either was rushing to work or it was cloudy (boo, Canada). Effort = Gold star.

Note that I used a couple regular polishes as basecoats to minimize bare spaces and accentuate the glitters - see the bottom of the post for which colours. Single chevron nail vinyls were used to guide the application of the accent chevron on the pointer and ring fingers, and a make-up sponge to create the glitter gradients on my middle and thumb nail using my sponge-absorbing-jelly technique. A dotting tool allowed me to add just a couple of dots of blue glitters on my pinky nail. After I finished this mani I realized that my use of 'Holo wasted', the purple holo glitter, was limited. It was only used in the two glitter gradients. Oh well, there's always a next time, mu ha ha ha.

Just for fun I snapped a pic under my daylight simulating compact fluorescent (CFL) 5200k bulbs. Here's a direct sunlight vs. articial light comparison:

Lighting: Direct sunlight
Lighting: Indoors with two 5200k CFL bulbs
Obviously the sun is still best, but if I get anymore of these holo glitter babies I will likely end up losing sleep and torturing myself to get direct sun shots.

Who doesn't need this much glitter in their lives??? Go now.
