Chrome holo flakies from Painted Polish... it just had to happen
So we've thought we've seen every kind of flakie out there - the translucent colour-shifty kind, the multi-chrome/ultra-chrome coloured kind, the metallic kind, the chrome kind... but now I've discovered the FLAKUS MAXIMUS of the year by Painted Polish, which is a - get this - a mirror chrome flakie with holo glitters scattered throughout!! Waaattttt.
In doing these swatches I also tested a new product by the makers of my fav nail oil (Bliss Kiss), called Simply Peel. It's a latex barrier similar in composition to the numerous other brands of latex products for quick and easy post-gradient/stamping/watermarble/otherwise nail art mess removal (e.g., Liquid Palisade, Nail Veil, Mess No More, costume body latex products, etc.).
I often 'sponge on' my glitter and flakies directly onto the nail to maximize polish coverage and minimize clumpiness - the sponge actually absorbs the jelly in the nail polish thus allowing a smoother coat of polish to stick to the nail with less of the jelly. You can check out a video tutorial on how to maximize glitter payoff on YouTube here. But what a mess this causes on my skin, right?!? I used Simply Peel around my nails to help protect my skin from getting flaked out and I must say I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!

Valentine's Day collab: White and red holo glittahhhh
So for all the traditionally hopeless romantics who are probably crying in their rooms over my black blood dripping heart and heartbeat mani in honour of V-Day the other day, here's something sparkly and lovey-dovey to make ya feel better! I joined in on a Valentine's Day nail art collab with some ladies on Instagram, and here's the result! Holo glitter, obviously.

Painted Polish translucent flakies... UM WOW
I've got three new Painted Polish babies for you... and they're actually NOT holo glitter?!?! UM WAT. They're flakies! And traditional flakies in the sense that they're translucent, so what we first understood as flakies back in 2011 or whenever the nail world was first introduced to this magical 8th wonder of the world. Essentially they are all glass-shard like pieces that illuminate through their transparency when the light hits them. These three are suspended in a clear base and as such are best used over a base colour. Black it is!!
*These are all limited edition and two are already out of stock* (sorry to tease you and then leave you...)

The prettiest dark blue holo you ever seen: Painted Polish 2015
...precisely what my title says, this is it ladies!! You can call off the search for that epic royal blue multi-dimensional deep holo polish cause I found it!! And it's limited edition, with the last restock ever happening tomorrow (Friday Jan 9th) at 11AM PST/2PM EST from Painted Polish's online shop. This polish is named '2015' in honour of the new year. In my experience Painted Polish holo glitter wonders sell out VERY quickly, so if you're looking to score this baby you best set your alarms and get on that website, add it to your cart (along with some other holo goodies of course, see here, here, here and here for some swatches), and check the fack out quick!!

Grumpy cat not a fan of holo glitter
What does Grumpy cat like anyways though? All I know is that he definitely probably more than likely is not a fan of sparkly awesome things such as holo glitter. So Liz of @sassafrassnails on Instagram and I decided to expose him to maximum levels of holo, muhahahhaha.
The grumpy cat portrait was hand-painted with acrylic paint and the holo glitter gradient is, well, nothing new from my side of the woods :D

Painted Polish releases four new holo glitters
More holo glitters brewing in the Painted Polish sparkly lair!! Check out these new brilliant babies the indie shop has added to their main line of 'under the holo influence' holo glitters. You can see my first round of swatches of the first of 'drunk on holo' phenomenon here, and some newer releases including - my faves - teal and a radiant orchid coloured holo glitter swatches here! As of right now, there's a total of 19 different holo glitters sold in the Painted Polish shop (and I have, erm, all of them... I don't have a problem).

It's holo glitter time with Painted Polish again
Cause you all know how much I love my holo glitter!! (Exhibit A and Exhibit B for Painted Polish, see also Exhibit C.) Lexi of Painted Polish sent me these glittery babies and although most of them are core stock and not collectively a 'collection', any excuse to do up some holo glitter swatches with a twist is good enough for me. Cause after all, I do suffer from HGDD (Holo Glitter Dissociation Disorder) and so when I see the shiny things in life it's pretty much impossible to bring me down to earth/reality. People keep trying though.

Happy holo-ween: A trio of holo glitters from Painted Polish
The only way to do halloween is to do holo-ween, obviously. Say hello to three new holo glitters brought to you by Painted Polish! This trio is expected to be launched for pre-order by later this week just in time for Halloween, so please check back on Painted Polish's website or on her social media feeds for updates.
To me, holo glitter is appropriate for any time of year, the only function of the seasons is that it gives us an excuse to buy all the holo glitters cause we MUST have that 2014 Holo-ween collection before it gets taken off the shelves forever, ya know.
See the swatch video for this collection here on Instagram!

Halloween spiders: Dry brush and glitter galore
It's Halloween soon time, not that I care at all cause I haven't dressed up for 739759 years, but in any case I know some of you still care so here's some nail arts to match. Featuring spider-web stuck on love nail shields and spider decals from Love, Angeline plus a mish-mash of some of my new polishes, Painted Polish's '#PSL' (i.e., pumpkin spice latte) and 'Black widow' holo glitters, along with 'Off duty' from Color Club which is from their new Made in New York Fall 2014 collection*.

Pretend vacay: Greek waters with saran wrap and water decals
Opa!! I am not Greek and I have never been to Greece butttt.... I would totally go if someone would buy me a plane ticket and pay for some sweet accomodations on the ocean with a private balcony and infiniti pool... any takers? Anyone?
In any case I got these awesome gold angled swirl water decals from Born Pretty Store and I immediately knew I must do a Greece-inspired mani. I used the saran-wrap technique to sponge on spots of polish for the muddy looking waters thing going on on the majority of the nail. The tips were topped off with the one and only 'Buzzed on blue' by Painted Polish by Lexi, which I have swatched here cause it is so awesome.

BTT Drunk kitty construction: Do not let wasted kitties pass
Today's mani is 1.5 months in the making... not because I actually spent 1,056 hours doing it, but because I leave far too manis hanging out in my 'to edit' folder and hence I am the worst person ever to do a #bestietwinnails with. Tracey of @missbellatracey on Instagram puts up with my slow-pokeness as she is a true Saint and so here we finally are today with our meticulously planned out drunk kitty construction manis!
